Help with staff wellbeing

to read

You can find a range of support to help with your wellbeing at the University.

One of the things on offer is the chance to attend regular Wellbeing Cafés. These events give all colleagues the chance to take some time out, get together and talk about a range of wellbeing issues in a relaxed and supportive environment.

After a break for the summer, our Wellbeing Cafés started again in September.

At the latest event on 14 September, Yasmin Bainbridge from the Mental Health Advice Team went along to give an overview of the new Staff Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs).

Yasmin gave attendees more details about the MHFAs, their responsibilities and how they can help colleagues with mental health issues.

Everyone’s welcome

Amanda Finn, from HR OD organises the Wellbeing Cafés. Amanda said:

We’re always pleased to see new people coming along to the Cafés, so please do sign up to get involved.

“The sessions are really relaxed and help you find out about all sorts of issues that can help with your wellbeing.

“We have some really great speakers so if you’re interested in any of the upcoming sessions, please just let me know.”

Following the Café about the MHFAs, we have two more dates for your diary:

  • The October Café will revisit Menopause and will be held on Wednesday 19 October from 10 till 11am
  • November’s Café will focus on men’s health and will be held on 16 November, from 10 till 11am.
