Welcome to our May edition of Dialogue, our monthly magazine for University colleagues.
As we approach the National Day for Staff Networks on Wednesday 8 May, we take a closer look at the various networks available to support colleagues across the University.
Dialogue caught up with Dr Kelly Jakubowski from Music to find out how her research has informed the upcoming launch of the Alice Dalí app. This is an educational app coming to our Botanic Garden soon.
We met Dr Amy Pearson, an Assistant Professor in Psychology, whose expertise is in the field of autism and neurodiversity as she tells us more about her work and how she likes to relax.
Networking and sharing learning are two of the key elements of DU Professional, so we learned more about our recent Ways of Working Showcase and found out how our Staff Chamber Choir fosters wellbeing.
Finally, following on from last month’s staff recommendations for books to read, we delved into the pages of one colleague's literary pastime.
If you’d like to share a story with us, please email internal.communications@durham.ac.uk
With the National Day for Staff Networks on Wednesday 8 May, we look at the networks that have developed at the University to support our colleagues, and speak with the organisers of our new Carers Staff Network.
