In our May edition of Dialogue, we put your Star Wars knowledge to the test. It was great to see so many of you taking part and we saw some fantastic results!
While no-one got top marks, we caught up with our highest scorer Sophie Wood who scored an amazing 14/15.
Sophie, a graduate intern working in University Library and Collections, told us that she has been a fan for a long time. She was first introduced to Star Wars as a kid through the animated Clone Wars TV show on Cartoon Network. She’s been hooked ever since.
Here she tells us a bit more.
Why do you like the films?
Star Wars was my first introduction to sci-fi, and it was that classic epic tale of good versus evil. There’s just something about that kind of story I think we can all in one way or another relate to and see ourselves in. But for me, what really made it stand out was the loud, brash, and unapologetically-herself princess saving the world. For me as a kid, seeing that was pivotal.
Who is your favourite character?
Ahsoka Tano
Did you find the quiz easy or was it difficult to complete?
A bit of both really! Some of them I had to really rack my brain over, and others I guess I just had stored in my head for moments like this!
Sophie is a graduate intern and we asked her to tell us a bit more about what she does in her day-to-day role.
She said: ‘’I work with the University’s art collection by supporting the curator, Alix Collingwood Swinburn. The best way to describe the role is that no two days are ever really the same.
“One day I could be planning events, the next I could be installing artwork, and to finish the week I could be managing the collection’s social media! Anything to do with the collection, you’ll probably find me nearby or involved in some way.
It’s a full-on diary, but an exciting role that I am proud of.
Thank you, Sophie!
