Staff and students have been getting involved in an update to the University’s 10-year Strategy.
Colleagues in the EDI department rapidly facilitated a short series of in-person and online workshops in December and January to support our efforts on the refresh of the University Strategy. All the sessions were facilitated on behalf of the University Executive Committee by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Dr Shaid Mahmood, and were attended by 152 academic and professional services staff members and students.
The workshops were designed to explore the University’s Purpose and Values and achieve a sense of what people felt we stand for as an institution, ensuring we remain relevant, inclusive and distinctive within our field.
The discussions were open and honest, leading to some key themes on Purpose and Values emerging that will now be finalised and worked into the wider Strategy refresh.
The illustration below reflects some of the discussions and themes that came out of the sessions. This information will be developed into several options for further consideration.
