Wellbeing support for the new academic year

to read

As part of our work to help colleagues and students with their physical and mental wellbeing, we’ve launched the University’s first Wellbeing Calendar.

The calendar went live on World Mental Health Day in October and brings you details about all the events and awareness days we’ll be supporting over the coming academic year.

From World Menopause Day to National Dog Day, the calendar gives you information about the activities we’ll be running to help you get involved and improve your wellbeing.

You can see the new Wellbeing Calendar on SharePoint – simply click on each month to find out more about the planned activities

Events for staff and students

Amanda Finn from HR-OD developed the calendar with colleagues from across the University. She said: “There are loads of wellbeing events happening throughout the next year and we thought we needed one place to publicise all the activities so colleagues and students could easily see how to get involved.

The calendar’s events have already kicked off, beginning with World Mental Health Day and World Menopause Day in October.

“As part of Men’s Health Awareness Month in November, there’ll be yoga sessions for students and a men’s health wellbeing café, amongst other things!

“I’d urge everyone to bookmark the calendar on their web browsers and to check every month to find out what’s going on. We’ll be adding more activities as we go through the year, so make sure you keep updated.”

You can also keep up-to-date with the latest health and wellbeing News.

If you’re running an event that you’d like to include on the calendar, please email hr.od@durham.ac.uk or visit the Help Us Help You Teams site.
