Celebrate Science returns

Palace Green saw the return of Celebrate Science in October, following a pause of the popular event over the pandemic.

With three days of experiments, activities and events, Celebrate Science offers fun for all ages.

The hugely popular festival is a highlight of the half-term calendar, featuring everything from Earth Sciences to Cosmology.

This year’s marquee was home to representatives from ten University departments, as well as Science Ambassadors from six local secondary schools and partners including Beamish Museum and Procter and Gamble.

Entry is free, and this year the printed programme included lots of fun and fascinating activities to do at home, in part inspired by the home activity packs that had been sent out during the pandemic.

The visitors that Dialogue spoke to were already looking forward to coming back in 2023, joining over 45,000 who have taken part since 2010.
