After two years away, our Technician Commitment annual event returned in June to celebrate the incredible work of our Technicians from across the University. This expert group has been pivotal in providing ongoing access to education and learning over the last two years and play a vital part in ensuring the ongoing success of many departments and areas from across the University.
The event was opened by Professor Karen O’Brien, Vice-Chancellor and Warden, and Technicians from across all faculties and areas were able to share their expertise and achievements through a range of technical talks and exhibitions taking place during the afternoon.
It was also attended, both virtually and in person, by engaging internal and external speakers. Those sharing their knowledge and insight included Clare Stevenson (Associate Lead for the Technician Commitment, Science Council), Andrew Filby (Winner of The Tech of Year Award, Newcastle University) and Jane Banks (Science Council).
