Greenspace Festival is here

to read

Join us on Thursday 16 June 2022 for our second Greenspace Festival at Collingwood College. Meet the Energy & Sustainability Team, speak with our student societies and visit the vast array of stallholders who will be on hand to provide guidance and tips on all thins environmental. You’ll also have the opportunity to find out what’s going on in our local community.

The festival will celebrate the University and wider community’s achievements in the past year and encourage visitors to engage with environmental issues through meeting sustainable businesses and environment groups, taking part in talks and workshops or checking out the fantastic food on offer.

There will be a range of local businesses and organisations, so there are plenty of ways to make the most of your Greenspace Festival – from tasting local honey to finding your next volunteering session.

Help shape our future

Following on from the market we will be hosting a ‘Game Changer’ carbon management workshop, led by our Enterprise Manager Rachael Bickerdike. Feedback from the session will help us shape our new net-zero strategy.

The festival will also feature a talk by former Newcastle Falcons rugby player and renewable energy entrepreneur Jason Oakes, a briefing on careers in sustainability from The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment’s (IEMA) Director of Policy, Martin Baxter, plus an opportunity to network led by students.

Together we can make an impact, so why not join us to help shape the University’s future?
