Our partnership with the Chinese Academy of Sciences

to read

Our academics have been working with colleagues at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) for decades on a whole range of research projects.

As part of this long-standing partnership, we launched a joint webinar series this academic year. We’ve already had talks about palaeontology, interdisciplinary research and the evolution of the universe, with more to come.

The webinar series brings together researchers, from Durham and CAS, who are outstanding in their fields of expertise to open up new perspectives across cultures, deepen collaboration and share fresh insights.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences is the main academic institution in the natural sciences and the largest research and development organisation in science and technology in China.

Our academics have worked together on hundreds of research papers in recent years and this partnership means we have been, and are continuing to, further our understanding of the world and address some of the most pressing issues in society today.

The webinar series brings together researchers, from Durham and CAS, who are outstanding in their fields of expertise to open up new perspectives across cultures, deepen collaboration and share fresh insights.

The series, which has also included speeches from our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stuart Corbridge and Vice-President of CAS, Professor Yaping Zhang, has already attracted almost 1,000 people from 41 countries.

To find out more, visit the Knowledge Across Borders webpages, where you can also watch the previous webinars.
