Recent Durham graduate, Nathaniel Barling, has secured a spot in Forbes’ annual ’30 under 30’ list.

I want Durham students and alumni to know this path isn’t just open to Harvard, Stanford, and MIT grads, but for us too!”
‘Knowhere’ to go!
Graduating from St Mary’s College in 2016 with a degree in Combined Social Sciences, Nathaniel is CEO and co-founder of Knowhere, an independent AI-powered news platform with an audience of 540,000 and growing.
Founded during Nathaniel’s time at Durham, Knowhere went through Stanford University's StartX accelerator and has raised more than $7 million from investors including Struck Capital and Abstract Ventures.
Attainable by all Durham students
Recalling his time at Durham, Nathaniel said: “It’s a real honour to have been recognised by Forbes for what we’ve been able to build so far at Knowhere.
“I have fond memories of first incorporating the company at the Bill Bryson Library in my second year, and of the university’s support and understanding – amongst college staff, my tutors and my Dean at the time – as I stretched everything to the limit to both get the company off the ground and to finish my degree.
